(the computer I'm on can't take my camera for some reason. Sorry) What the heck!!! Since when does Robin Williams commit suicide and nobody tell me about it?!?!?! He was the greatest actor ever. #hewillbemissed #Genie #Flubber #PeterPan #childhoodhero FAMILIA!!!!!! Howz y'all doon? We ended up not having a baptism last week because the mom of our investigator call the cops and had the guy arrested 4 hours before the baptism for no real reason. What a shocker. I was stunned. Can you believe I've been out for almost a month now?!??! Holy guacamole! I'm getting so old! It's weird to think that I have 9 months left, now 8. But I still feel new. Which is nice, because then I'll come home and be like... WHAAA???? I was just barely home! I got interviewed by Prez this week. He thinks I'm a hoot. There's always a plethera of missionaries who line up in the hall because all they hear inside our interviewing room is pure laughter. We're quite hilarious together. Randomly, President said that if I died today, he has no doubt that I would go straight to the celestial kingdome. Wow. That make me feel all good inside. :) He also said taht the PTC ward is begging to have me back. I''m praying that'll come true! I LOVE YOU MORE THAN NICHOLA TESSLA LOVES ELECTRICITY!!!! #sciencejoke #nailedit #fistpump Mom: Holy cannoli!!! You got to hold a wallabe??? Ahck! I'm so jealous. It's so crazy Brandon's engaged.... I'm glad I came back to Georgia. I love it here. The humidity, the bugs, the Hardings, all of the above. :D Poor Baylie. I miss those kids. Do you get to see them much? HAVE A BLAST IN MONTANA!!! And tell all those fools (people) to write me!!!! Dad: So sad that you can't go to Australia. Sounds like you had a good Sunday. So cool that Travis got called to Chile! He'll do great!!!!! I love you! How do you like being an empty nester? Jennifer: Thanks so much for all the pictures! He's so cute! And so are the twins! Little Harley and Little Marie. ;D Dace Face looks so happy. I miss him and you! And Brian too! Michael: Thanks for the email. Haha. I'm glad you felt like a ninja! I worked hard on getting it up there! I burned the bottom of my feet so bad that I got a couple blisters. Next time, I'll wear shoes. Kevin: You farming STUD!!!! Ya, you look way tan! It's so cool that you're working on a farm! Or ranch. Or whatever. It's a farm. I can't wait to hug you like a bear and eat some gummy worms. I'll even play a video game with you when I come back. Ha! Just kidding. I probably won't. But it's the thought that counts. Brooke: How's the hand. :) Everyone in my Dunwoody ward found out I'm a twin and when they sarcastically ask if you broke your arm too, it gets really awkward. Haha. I miss you past the moon and back! Randomness...... A mosquito landed on my arm and I was in ninja mode and I karate chopped it. Well, it was already full of blood, so blood splattered everywhere. I'm amazed at how full a little bug can get. I don't know who's blood was in it, but it was nasty. *a senior couple from PTC is coming today and taking us out to lunch. They missed me. :) *I slept walked last night and found myself in our living room, just standing there. How creepy is that???? What if Manzer woke up and saw me in the door way??? * Manzer's family mailed me some candy and a necklace. It was so nice and thoughtful. *I ate a cookie for the first time this week. They're nice to have every once in a while. Also, I amazed everyone at Bishop Abamonte's home at how much I can eat. I can eat like a horse! They were all like, EAT EAT EAT EAT!!!! I'm buying popcorn today. I already have pickles and oranges, now I just need a movie and it's a bunch of my favorite things together!!!!!!!! I LOVE YOU! TIL NEXT WEEK!!

(AALIYAH KIRKLAND GOT BAPTIZED!!!!! Right after I left too.:) Hello Family!!! This week, I got sick. It only lasted one day THANK GOODNESS! It as just a little cold, but man, I just like being well. :) This week was really slow. We've gotten a few referrals that I can't wait to start teaching! We got one referral who is good friends with a member of the church, and he wants to learn more! YAYA! I am so stoked! Also, I love this branch! They are so much fun! I love making them laugh! Update on the hand... it's doing so good! It doesn't hurt at all, so I'm just waiting around for the 3rd of September to come so the doctor can tell me I can take of this brace. I still have a weird bump on the bone, but it doesn't bother me, so I'm not worried about it at all. Sorry this is not very really was a SUPER slow week. It kind of felt like a year. I'll add more in a bit if I can think of anything. :) I love you more than Rice Krispies love to snap, crackle, and pop!! Mom: I never knew Sister Thiriot, but I've met her. She was a companion of one of my favorite missionaries in the field, Sister Walser! She just left this last transfer. She seems like she was pretty nice though. It's weird that Brandon is engaged... That's so cool that Kevin got to touch the broken ground at the Temple site!! A WALLABY!!! I want to hold one!! The white handbook just says to not hold kids... it doesn't say anything about holding Wallabies! I want to go to Australia in 5 years too!!! I'll save all my pennies! Poor Bailie! She looks like a thug! Harley looks just like Dace did in his ultrasound!!! Tell Jennifer to hold the baby in for another month so I can be there when she's born. :) Dad: What is a "Treeo"? Is it pronounced like Trio? It sounds like you had an amazing experience at church! I'm so happy that Travis is going to Chile! He'll be amazing! Just remember that Hindsight is 20/20, so make sure you enjoy the journey! Then, you'll enjoy looking back. :) We've also had some pretty funky weather lately! It has poured for days! Today, we got to wake up to sunshine and blue skies though! Michael: Just remember that we wrote you even when we didn't have much to work with. We're all imperfect, but just keep swimming. That's what I tell myself. How long of a drive is it to Maple Dell? I don't even remember... I think I usually slept on the way up there. I love tinfoil dinners! They are really ROUGHING it! :) I have never been able to set up a tent in my life, so I don't think I could have done that. Nooo! I really want to see the costume museum, but I guess I'll just have to buy it when I'm rich and famous one day. :) Kevin: You are tan!!! I really like that picture. You need to shave. You've got something furry growing on your face. ;) It's so weird that I don't know any of our second cousins like Preston or Ainslie. Our family is huge. Hahaha, I liked your story about your bee sting. I read it and I was like, "Ouch." :) You'll have to teach me how to be a farmer one day! So, you went to the end of the ground breaking ceremony for the Temple and you didn't even mention it!!! That's HUGE news!! And, you get to make me lasagna in 6 months!!! Jen: Thank you so much for all the pictures!!! I especially loved the video of Dace Face telling us he loved us!!! I watched it over and over and over! Did you go to Denny's for his birthday breakfast? Hahaha, he's laying down in the bathtub! What a big boy! Your baby bump is adorable!! Your face is priceless too! Did Dace get my birthday card I sent? It had a hot dog on it... Harley looks just like Dace did! She has the same nose I think. You make some pretty cute kids. :) Erin: Don't worry, Sam will be's just a matter of time now. I did get your picture with the funny face laughing at me! I carried it around all day to show it to members. :) They LOVED it!! Hahaha, hooray for awkward experiences! We have more than our share of those!

(It's not very good, but I'm drawing Jesus... I got to eat a stuffed pepper for the first time!!...Manzer and I.....This is what happens during exchanges... you make new friends....Georgia sunset) Hiya!!!! This week, wow, it felt like Satan hit me in the face with the baseball bat. He tried sooooooo extremely hard to not let us win... Our investigator, Sam, was hours away from his baptism when his mother called the cops on him and got him arrested. He used his one phone call to tell us that he was no in jail and could be there for up to a year. We frantically called almost everyone in the ward to tell them not to come to the church, but still, a few members showed up to the church, not happy that they didn't receive word. At church, they explained to us how upset they were with us and our lack of effort. But, with God on our side, we calmly explained to them what had happened. After church, we went to go see Sam's mom and try to figure out what happened and we discovered that she was just tired of him living with her, so she got him arrested to get him out of the house. Wow, what a loving mom..... but it's ok, he'll get baptized eventually haha. I had the most awkward experience too, we were on exchanges this week and I stayed in DW. So, I made all these appointments and I got in contact with a long lost investigator family. Tony and Kim. Well, we went over there and I asked if Kim was home and it turns out that she died last week. Whoa! I kept talking to Tony and I invited him to be baptized and he was trying to convince me that he was already member and that he had already been baptized. And I was like, "Well you see, the difference between any baptism and a baptism into THIS church is the actual authority from God...." I kept explaining it and he kept saying how he was baptized by that authority and that he also held that authority. Anyway, our conversation kept going in circles for about an hour when I finally realized that he really WAS a member. Just less active...... soooo awkward. Hahahahahahahaha! I had never met him or heard anything about him so I though he was an investigator!!!!! I'm also learning how to talk like a ganster. Actually, it comes naturally, it's hard for me to speak real English these days. Ha! Well, I can't remember anything else that happened this week, but I LOVE YOU MORE THAN THERE ARE SPOTS ON A GIRAFFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love, Erin Momsicle: I can't believe I still have more than a hundred days than Brooke..... wooooooowwww. Yip Yip!!! FREEEEEDOOOOMMMM!!!!!! This is the one email that I actually looked forward to hearing about Alex. Dace Face looks soooo happy and cute!!! Of course he was sweating like a pig, that boy has some good glands in his body. I can't wait to see you in a year!!!!!!!!! Popsicle: Wowza! You had a crazy busy week! I loved how you opened your letter with Gidday! I like to pretend I'm an Aussie because then people hear my accent and want to hear the lessons because of the accent. Haha. That's what I call 'creative finding!!!!' Jensicle: Yay! I'm happy you've been a mom for 3 years now! Send me pics of Dace Face and your twins! Yes I'm still convinced that you're gonna have 2 mini-you's! Mikesicle: Write me boi!! Kevsickle: Fool! It doesn't matter that you're on a farm, doing hard man labor.... write your missionaries!!!!!!!!!!! Brookesicle: I love you bunches and I'm so happy you broke a couple bones too! Yay for twins!! Did you get me letter? Or rather Picture????? Did you like it??? I LOVVVVVEEEEEEE YYYYYOOOOOOUUUUUU!!!!!! BONUS RANDOMNESS NEWS.... I pranked Manzer this week. Haha. We were studying and she was looking in my direction. So... I stretched and popped my neck, but I pretended to break my neck and die. I collapsed on the desk and she totally freaked out. She hopped out of my seat and came frantically over to me. I couldn't hold it in any longer and I bust up laughing. She looked like she was gonna kill me for real. Hahaha. We had a good laugh afterwards. Muahahaha! #sinister Also, I accidently hugged a guy in our ward. We hugged the wife and I walked right up to the husband and hugged him too. Everyone was stunned and I didn't realize what I did until afterwards. Haha. Oops. Oh well, I'm still a human. Also, I still feel so awkward being a missionary again. I don't think I'll ever get used to it again. 9 months seems like a really long time, but look, I'm already .5 months into it!! Only 8.5 to go!!! One of these days, I'll get a letter from someone. *cough #hinthint Also, maybe, I'll get a birthday package too... since I'll never have a birthday on the mish..... ;) Also, I'm only 4 hours away from Brooke right now!!!! I could drive there and back so easily! But... I won't. I'll be exactly obedient! Also, countless people have told me that I look like Rapunzel from Tangled or Elsa and Anna from Frozen. Yay!!! Two movies I LOVE and I looka like a princess! Huzzah! What a compliment!!!!! I want to be a princess with magical powers when I grow up. :D Also, someone random in the ward told me that I annoy them because I'm happy all the time. Haha. I thought it was hilarious! I apologized for being happy and told them I would find more things to be bitter about. I think I offended them with my sarcasm. Haha. Oh well, how do you apologize for joy???????? Also, I Can't wait to talk to you next week!!!!!! I LIVE FOR P-DAYS!! Any way... I LOVE YOU MORE THAN THE RANDOM THOUGHT THAT POP IN MY NOGGIN!!!!!!!!!!!!! Which is a lot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wait, what were we just talking about? Haha iiiiiiiiiiiiiiTE AMO!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brooke 8.18.2014

(This came from Sister MESSER. This is Elder Boore.) Hello Family!!!!!! Man, I love you guys. :) So, this week was interesting... I went to the Doctor's on Monday at 3, and they found a fourth break...from an elder. :) Good thing me and him are good friends. :) It's really funny, because we go home at the same time, so he said, "I can see it now... We're coming down the escalators and we see your family, and my family... Your mom starts walking towards you... all of a sudden, she goes around you right to me and stabs me!!" Hahahahaha!!! I nearly died laughing! I only have to wear this brace for 4 more weeks because they said I'm healing a lot faster than they would have ever dreamed! They said that usually they would put a cast on me for these kind of breaks, but it's so hot and humid outside that I would just be miserable, and I'm already healing. So, NO CAST!!! Yay! The next day, we had our Zone Conference, and I got to see Sister Messer!!! She's my favorite. :) We're not in the same zone, but our Zone Conference was 2 zones combined. President and Sister Griffin asked me all kinds of questions about my hand. They even announced it that Elders need to stop breaking Sisters' hands. Elder Bakker broke Sister Clove's hand 2 months ago... and now, Elder Boore broke my hand 3 weeks ago. Silly Elders. So, my hand is doing GREAT! It hardly hurts any more. I can still feel my bone because it's all funky now, but I'm not worried about it anymore. I can only feel pain when I straighten out my fingers. Other than that, it's doing so good. The work this week in RV (Rogersville) was pretty slow. I'm doing everything in my power to move it along, but we're still recovering from recent events. We're coming up with a Family Mission Plan. This week, our Branch President finally got a counselor! Our Branch Mission Leader, Ray, is now Branch Mission Leader, 1st and 2nd Counselor, and Branch Clerk! Woah! He's got his hands full, so we're trying to help him as much as we can! I do miss JC though... It was my absolutely favorite area. Yesterday, the Hubbards from JC came to the RV branch! I'm still in the same stake as JC, so I get to see people every now and then! Also, Stake Conference is coming up next month, so I'll get to see tons of my people! I CAN'T WAIT! I love you more than Thanksgiving loves turkeys! Mom: Your subject line is very clever. Wha?! You and Dad are practically empty nesters now! How did THAT happen so fast? Only Michael and Anna are left. Your hash tags made me really happy. :) I'm so glad Dace had a great birthday! I'm sad I missed it, but I don't plan on missing any more for a while. :) How was it talking to Sister Griffin? She likes you. She thought it was funny that you chuckled when she called with the news of the fourth break. Dad: Man, you don't have any time off? That's rough. I bet it feels like serving a mission again. Haha. I'm so glad you enjoyed Dace's birthday party. You're a proud Grandpa! hahaha, I BET you and Mom pray a lot. Don't worry, I think I counted once...I think I pray on average 15 times a day. I know it's not enough, but it's a lot more than I did before. hahahahahaha!!! You're comment about the "Bozo Elder" who broke my hand is hilarious! I almost peed my pants! There's a less-active member here who thinks we're going to be dating after I get back. I was like, "Ya right! Not happenin'!" It was hilarious/awkward. No worries, Dad. I'm not going to date him. Kevin: You're a farmer!!! I love it! Make sure to send me pictures! How do you drive a tractor without a steering wheel? What did you do when the bee stung you? Did you have to go to the hospital? I can't wait to have you teach me how to be a farmer. haha, You'll be so tan by the time you're done! How was the Bodily Reunion? Where was it? Michael: Just remember... you served a mission once. You know what it's like to not get any news from the people you love most. I'm not asking a lot...Where is that costume museum? I want to go there when I go home! You can be my tour guide! PHANTOM AND PIRATES AND SHERLOCK HOLMES?! Those are ALL my favorites! Now I REALLY have to go there when I get home! It's so boss that you got to tackle someone! You beast, you. Where did you take Anna camping? How long were you there? Was it cold? Were you in a tent or a cabin? Did you have a camp fire? S'mores? Jen: How did Dace's birthday party go?? Are you showing yet??? PICTURES!!! I hope you and Brian have a fantastic week! I LOVE YOU AND WILL ALWAYS LOOK UP TO YOU! Erin: I totally looked up Dunwoody in my GPS and a saw that you're only like a few hours away from me! :) It's good to have you back. :) I wish I could have been trained by you to be a missionary! That would have been a BLAST! I loved the picture of the wedding dress... classic.

Erin 8.11.2014

(Me posing with this little guy at the library this morning...This pic doesn't do justice to the rain that was a comin'...A guy gave us his late-wife's wedding dress...Just a typical Georgia afternoon) Familia! This week was so funny. It's downpoured every day so far this week, so it's getting me used to the humidity, being wet all the time. I guess these kinds of storms are what it feels like when there's a hurricaine somewhere and it turns out that there was one in Hawaii. So that makes sense. One of our investigators, Sam, is getting baptized on Saturday. He's been in vestigating for about 6 months now and He's ready and excited to be baptized. I can't believe that Dace Face turns 3 this week!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a big boy!!!! I hope you all have such a happy birthday party for him for me. :) Boy, I miss that little guy. Also, I can't believe that on Thursday will be mine and Brooke's 1 year mark from entering the MTC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Holy guacamole! I LOVE YOU MORE THAN SOUTHERNERS LOVE TO SWEAR!!!! I LOVE YOU MOM!!! MORE THAN THERE ARE PICKLES IN AN ERIN SIZED JAR!!!! Mom: Kiss Dace Face for me!!! Did you get my letter I sent in the mail? So fun that you get to baby sit Dace! I hope you enjoyed my 'kisses'. :D Dad: So cool that you got to see a moose! Singin way-o-way-o!! I really wish I could ride a moose, or have it carry my stuff in it's antlers. Or, Brooke and I could sit in the antlers, mom could ride on it's back, and you could walk us around like an olden day chofur..?!! Jennifer: I LOVE YOU AND I already miss you like crazy! I hope you have fun on Dace Face's birthday! I sent him a birthday card, so I hope he gets it soon. Michael: Write me.... oh ok. You did. Yay! Did you buy those costumes? Did you get pictures of them? Weifd, I send my email to you every week..... I LOVE YOU! Cool that you got to tackle someone, I love tackling people. It makes me feel like a secret agent. Kevin: Write me.... stay safe on the farm! I LOVE YOU!! Brooke:What a crazy experience!! I'm serving in Dunwoody, it's in Atl. It's kind of like how South Jordan is in SLC. It's like that. Haha. I NEVER expected to be a greenie and immediately start trianing a greenie. It's soooo weird and awkward. You would be the best trainer ever!! After all, every ting I know in life, I basically learned it all from you. You trained me for 19 years, it'd be a piece of cake to train someone for 3 months.

Brooke 8.11.2014

This week, we were able to contact a referral! Her name is Diceya. She went onto and referred herself because she heard that Mormon's have good geneology records. We went over to teach her (she lives an hour and fifteen minutes away from us!!!) and she's so prepared! She was talking about how there is a pattern of "anarchy" all throughout time, so we told her we call it APOSTASY. She was even like, "Have you noticed, that all the churches around here are teaching their own doctrine and not the true doctrine?? They only teach was fits their life!" HAHAHAHA!!! She's so prepared! We have to baptize this lady! She's an animal lady, so we visit her outside on her porch in her rocking chairs. :) I absolutely LOVE my Branch Mission Leader and Branch President!! Ray is our Branch Mission Leader and President Stockinger is our Branch President. They are sooo funny. It also helps that they are really good friends with everyone. President Stockinger has told me so many times that he feels like he's known me forever. I haven't even been here for 2 weeks. They always ask me questions about things that happened months before I got here because they forget that I'm new to the area. It's so funny. :) I'm so glad you all got to meet Ryan!! Isn't he the greatest! He's going to be a General Authority one day! So, update on my hand!! It's already looking better! The swelling has gone down, so now, I can feel my bone. If you start at my middle knuckle and start rubbing to my wrist, you feel it drop down and then jump up. It's pretty crazy. It's feeling better, but it still hurts a little to use it. It's green bruising now, so that's good! Everyone in our branch calls me "Crip." It's pretty hilarious! I did get hit in the hand with a basketball though... A young elder thought I was looking at him and that I would block it, but I wasn't, so I didn't. I got teary-eyed because it hurt so bad. He felt horrible...good. Haha. :) JK. My Doctor appointment is in Knoxville today at 3, so I'll get the final results then. I'm pretty excited. :) I love you more than all the books there are in the Library of Congress!!! Mom: I need to call Sister Griffin after my appointment to let her know what's going on. I'll tell her to call you and let you know too. I won't be able to get back on after because I'm trying to be exactly obedient. Kiss Dace Face for me!! Dad: WE HAVE TO GO TO AUSTRALIA TO SEE YOUR FRIEND SCOTT!!! I'm willing to help out in any way I can. I just really want to go! :) Did the moose chase you?? I bet you guys were booking it out of there! I'm so glad you helped Ryan answer some gospel questions! He was so prepared. He's great! How long did your camp-out last? Where did you go? I love you! Kevin: I want you to email me pictures!! Especially of you being a farm-boy! Michael: Did you fall off the face of the earth!? Email me. It's been two weeks now... I want to know what's going on in your life. Jen: For sure I want pictures of Dace's 3rd birthday party! Thanks for sending me a quick email! Erin: I'm still going to be sending you emails because I'm in the habit. How is Lunkwoody? I know that's not what the name is, but I cannot, for the life of me, remember what it's called? Where is that? Is it above Atlanta? How far is that from PTC? How is it being a trainer??? I don't think I'll ever train... I would corrupt that poor missionary! Hahaha.

Dunwoody Georgia. New Companion is Sister Kezia Manzer (from St. George)
(Stockton protected my bed...My trainer went home!...The lovely Sister Manzer...Traveling Sisters...We ate icecream and carrots for dinner) WoW!!!! This whole week has been the craziest one ever and possibly the longest. I've been a missionary again for 5 days now, but it feels like it's been weeks. I Just flew in and it turns out that President H asked me to train. I'm training a greenie while I'm a greenie myself. I'm in the Dunwoody ward (which is the polar opposite of PTC and it needs a TON of help). I'm training a sister whose name is Kezia Manzer from St George. She is sucha doll and sooooooo cute! I've never met anyone more sincere than her. My ward is kinda cold, the only greetings I got on my first sunday, were... "well new sister, you have some huge shoes to fill so I hope you don't dissappoint us." ...."oh look, another missionary to ignore." and stuff like that. It was all kind of intimidating, but Prez said he felt like I was needed here, so I'll see what I can do to help. YOU WENT ZIPLINING AND FOUR WHEELING WITHOUT ME?!?!?!?!?! What kind of sick joke is this? I spent 3 months home (1 of which where I was healthy), and we didn't do those.... :) Hahaha. I guess we'll just have to make a list of things to do for when I get home in 9 months. It's official. I come home on May 29th. We went on 2 exchanges with the Traveling Sisters. They really tried to help me because I feel so awkward and it was soooo fun to be with Burckle again! We had a grand ol' time. Huntsman is waaaay cool too! I'm making so many friends! I cannot tell you HOW MANY missionaries are asking about the dates I went on with David. Holy smokes. No joke, people even call me "future Sister Steele" instead of Sister Echols....... I got to stay at the mission home for the first time in forever... Que Frozen. And Stockton wouldn't let anyone but me sleep in his bed. haha. He followed me around that whole first day and he kept hugging me. He's my lil' bro. President was shaking all the new missionarie's hands in the airport and I was the last one, when he saw me, he scooped me up and gave me the biggest hug ever. When Sister Harding saw me, she ran over to me in her high heels and nearly hugged me to death. I almost drowned too becasue we both were crying. The whole rest of the day, they used me as the example of what-not-to-do as a missionary. ahhaha. We got to go to the PTC ward building for our orientation and Jessica Tripp waited there for me and it was soooooooooo good to see her!!!!!!! I MISS YOU ALL AND I LOVE YOU MORE THAN THE ECHOLS TWISSIONARIES LOVE BREAKING BONES!!!!!!!!!!! Mom: You are a doll! I miss you like crazy and I wish I could hang out with you again. You've always been my best friend my whole life and I'll love you til my spirit explodes. I can't wait to see you again in May or June! It seems so far away.... but we'll see what happens. I love you Dad: SO fun that your aussie friends are there! Did you tell them Hi for me???? I hope so! It sounds like you had a lot of fun over the past couple of days.... with out me..... I miss you bunches!!!! Michael: Really? It's my first week back here, and you don't email. Lame sauce. Jennifer: I still think yuou're gonna have twins.... it's gonna happen. Just accept it. I come home in may or June, so Harley and baby Iron man will be so old! I miss you!!!!! Kevin: yayayayay! You're a farmer!! Old McDonald had a farm, e i e i Hey macarena!! So fun so fun! I MISS YOU!!!

Brooke 8.4.2014

Transferred 7.30.2014 Rogersville Tennessee....Sister Camille Hargis is new Companion.
(Pics of my broken hand)Oh ya, these picture are 1. Right when I first did it 2. Three hours later when I got it xrayed after church 3. Later that night at our apartment Sorry family, these are the last pictures you'll be getting while I'm in Rogersville. My camera broke on my last day in JC, and these library computers can't read any devices. Luckily, I already had these pictures downloaded, just ready to send. So, I'm sure you've all heard... I broke my hand in 3 places. I did it 2 days before Erin flew back out to Georgia. I'm a klutz. Right before Sacrament meeting on Sunday July 27, 2014, I was out at our car. I was holding my scriptures with my right hand against my stomach while I closed the door with my left. I was standing too close to the door though, so when it swung shut, it smashed straight into my middle knuckle and shoved all the bones in my hand into my wrist. Sister Messer heard the CRACK from the other side of the car and was like, "What was THAT??" I told her it was my knuckle. I didn't feel it at first, I just heard it. Then, it started to turn black and swell... and I started to feel it. A "doctor" in our ward grabbed my hand and started squeezing it and pulling on my fingers. I really cried because I felt like I was going to pass out from pain. The ward said I turned white and they thought I was going to punch him for doing that. I didn't. :) Brother Taylor took a picture of it and sent it to Sister Griffin so she was aware. She was worried. Another guy in our ward in JC is a chiropractor, so he xrayed it for free. He said it looks like it's just a contusion. That's why I didn't tell you anything about it. I didn't want you to worry if there was nothing wrong with it. I know you worried about Erin when she got hurt, so I didn't want to cause you more stress. It got super swollen and very red. That Wednesday was transfers, so I had to pack all my stuff with a hurt hand. In Knoxville, Sister Griffin saw me and told me she wanted it re-xrayed, so I got my new comp (Sister Hargis) and headed to the urgent care in Farragut. The first doctor we saw said it's not broken, but he wanted a second opinion, so he sent us somewhere else. They took lots of pictures of it and found that it's fractured in 3 spots... the middle knuckle where it got hit, and the middle knuckle's bone down near my wrist, and my ring finger's bone down near my wrist. So, 2 out of 3 doctors say it's not broken, but I think it is. It's pretty fat and bruised. They put a splint on me. We got home at 9:30 pm. Late that night, I got a text from Sister Griffin telling me she had called Mom and told her I broke my hand. Well, so much for keeping it quiet. HAHA! Yesterday, a guy in my new ward thought it was just my wrist, and was trying to be "careful" by grabbing my middle finger and shaking it back and forth. I cried because it hurt so bad. I don't know what he was thinking, but I think it caused more damage. I go back on the 11th for a follow-up. I don't think I'll need a cast, but we'll find out next Monday. Typing all this is killing my hand, but I can't even hold a pencil, so I have no choice. Well, I'm now in Rogersville, TN. A tiny tiny branch. Sister Camille Hargis is my new comp. She goes home this transfer, so she's pretty trunky, and I'm disabled. What a pair we are. No new news other than that. You're welcome. Love, Sister Echols I love you more than all my dumb blonde moments!!! Mom: I hope this email gives you all the details you need. It hurts to type, so my emails are gonna be real short after today. I miss Erin too. :) That picture was taken about 3 days before I broke my hand. Enjoy the view. :) It's not pretty after that. I never knew Elder Schouten, but I've heard a lot about him. He trained one of my good friend's here. I played with his sister Christa Schouten on the basketball team. :) I don't know Sister Burningham. It's so cool that there's a blog now! Dad: Here's all your details! Thanks for keeping me in your prayers. I can't wait to meet Scott and Steve!!! They are hoots! I loved the videos too! I am practicing my accent and I'm pretty fluent now. :) They would be proud. You sound like you've had a super fun week! I know that I want to keep in touch with Sister Messer like that. :) She's the best. Kevin: Take pictures of you getting buff and working on the farm! Keep me posted on everything you do! Michael: How was your week? I didn't hear from you, so either it was really boring, or you got kidnapped and had no access to the internet. :) Jen: How's pregnancy treating you?? Erin: Ya, I broke my hand. In 3 spots. Everyone here thinks it's a hoot because you got broken on your mission too. Yay for Georgia!!!
